Hike to Point Sublime

Many of the hikes around the Grand Canyon of Yellowstone were closed at the time of our visit. However, we wanted to hike somewhere to see something different from the regular touristy viewpoints, but at the same time it had to be an easy, kid-friendly hike. Point Sublime fit the bill. It is only one mile long and does not go too far into the bear roaming territory.

The hike starts from the Artist Point parking lot and goes all the way to Wapiti lake (14 miles). It was almost 6:00 PM, and there were no other hikers around, so we were quite afraid of meeting the bears alone, thus, we equipped ourselves with some bells to produce more noise.

The views along the hike were good, but none were more spectacular than from the Artist Point. Here are some of the pictures we took along the way.

We did not saw any bears on our way there and back. However, the fear of meeting one was unpleasantly spoiling our hike.
